Jazz Hands!!

This was Tuesday. I was running late, so I chose something very basic, but at the last minute decided to add a little bit of interest and throw on a scarf as a belt- it's my interpretation of jazz hands, in clothing form!! I loved the look, but perhaps next time I'll chose a pair of pants that fit me really well, so I'm not pulling them up all the time- no the most practical belt of all!!

Obsessed

I feel like I've been obsessed with purple lately, could be me- but I AM!!!

I felt very equestrian club like today. Don't get me wrong, I actually felt really good in this all day, in fact, this woman was looking at me as if to say, "OMG, doesn't she know you don't pair black and brown?"

I felt like my style has been a little boring lately, so I decided to mix up my color palette just a little bit. I actually really like how this turned out, I needed something simple and easy...what's more simple or easy than a cami and a cardi.

I've been reading about "uniforms" and I guess this would be my go to look when I have no idea and can't make my mind up.

Oh, did you notice the puppy again- what a photo fiend!!! Eednic over at Fashionably eLate asked what kind of dog I had, and to be quite honest...he's a mutt. He was marketed on the humane society website as a "boxer mix" but we see a few different breed, truthfully, your guess is as good as mine!!

Saturday: Lunch With the Girls

Ahh, I didn't have to work today, because of the holiday...it was glorious!!!! I took the opportunity to do something that I NEVER do, hang out with my girlfriends!! It was awesome, we gossiped, giggled, and I even had a drink (for those of you that don't know, I barely ever drink- I mean EVER!!!) It was true bliss! Of course, when I got home I had to clean, but I'll take the trade off!!! I kept it simple for the outing with jeans a white tee and a very lovely scarf, from someone rather wonderful!!!

Soooo, I don't know if you've noticed but Ollie (our pup) LOVES the camera. It's really funny because he'll be minding his own business until he hears the timer going off on the camera, then he'll saunter on over and place himself right behind me. What can I say I've created a monster!!! Maybe I'll start dressing him so he can at least contribute some fashion, sure he's cute, but some fashion please!!!

Oh, I almost forgot! So, my birthday is this friday, 9-11 ( I know, sucks, but I came first so there!!)- gah I love exclamations, imagine what I sound like- chances are you got it! So, where was I? Oh yes, my birthday (26- yikes!) my hubs has surprised me with a beach trip, very last minute, so I will totally be out of commission until Monday. Have no fear, I will be taking pictures, but prob won't be able to upload until I get back. We'll see, maybe I'll be crazy and blog while there, why not, I DO have to study for analytical chemistry regardless (not that this is anywhere near analytical chemistry- ack!) I did not intend to take one, but during the last two weeks before finals I was incredibly stressed out and not look blog worthy, after finals my mom came to stay with me for a month and I just couldn't find the time to blog, then I went on a short vacation and did not have internet access, finally I have been up to my eyes in wedding stuff. Best thing EVER!!

So, I'd like to introduce to you all for the first time ever Josiah Alexander Paul!!! My nephew was born on Saturday at 5:52 pm, weighing in at 7 lbs. 5 ozs. and measuring 20 1/4 inches. He is the most amazing person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!! I had no idea how magical child birth could be, needless to say I'm a bit enamored. Here he is though...I'll try to post a great pic that's on my phone once I figure out how to do that :)

They were originally $80, and I thought that I misread the price, so I asked the salesman and he informed me that they were even cheaper than I thought......$14.50 (I know right!)

These are the colors of my Alma mater!!! I haven't ever worn this color combination until now, and you know I think I felt like I looked better than the way I actually look in this pic. I don't know, the skirt is kinda of funky and the cardigan makes me feel like a lady. However, I think the problem I'm having with the picture is that the yellow is too light with this dark purple. It's like Kasmira says about pairing colors, to pair the same ,and the woman definitely knows what she's talking about. So I think that I'm going to have to search for a darker yellow top!! How do I love thee..

Oh my goodness, it is absolutely ridiculous how much I love this skirt!! I have been dying to wear it, bought it about a month ago at Old Navy. My mom and stepdad gave me a $50 gift card to there and you wouldn't believe me if I told, but I'll tell you anyway, I got 16 items and only went $15 over the gift card amount....and this skirt was one of my finds!! I love how springy, yet almost seductive the flowers feel, plus I think that the stripes add a little something interesting to it too. It's taken me awhile to think of an outfit to put together with it, but I really like this one!!

Just having some fun!!

I can't believe I actually found these gems at the thrift store, I mean I've found clothes and such and occasionally look at the shoes, but haven't found any until now! I love the knotted detail at the toe! Oh, I found another pair of heels a lot like these but with a closed toe and a little sleeker, assuming someone donated both pairs.

Oh, and I was trying to explain why my pics may look a little crooked, it's because this is my very high tech setup. That little thing on top of the bucket is actually my tripod, cute isn't it?! It's just not wanting to support the weight of the camera completely, can you blame it, it's so tiny!!
