Shoes, shoes, shoes

What's a girl to do when she feels like crap, talk about shoes of course!! So I still feel like poo, and though I did get out today, you don't want to see what I wore, not cute!! Anywho, I thought I would share some of my recent shoe purchases from this past month.....
Got these from JC Penney $8
These came from Payless $5 (they were my BOGO)
Love these, came from Payless $16
These are a bit strange, which I think is why I like them. They came from Rack Room shoes $14
This, my dearies, is my nearest and dearest purchase....I think these boots scream SEXY. I found these at Belk in the middle of a bajillion shoes on tables. They were originally $80, and I thought that I misread the price, so I asked the salesman and he informed me that they were even cheaper than I thought......$14.50 (I know right!)

I hope you guys enjoyed this post!! It was fun sharing with you...and despite the fact that I feel like poo I will certainly be posting on Saturday night, because I'm going out with the FI!! Gonna be good!

MIA

I would like to apologize to you all for my lack of posting lately, let me explain.... last week I only had to go to class once, the rest of the week I either cleaned the house or had to work (so nothing to post anyway), and then on friday night I started feeling weird, sick weird. Saturday came along and it was on, sunday rolled around and I was full blown sick!!! I feel awful, so until I get better or until I am forced to get out of the house, I will not be posting...I'm sorry, but hopefully I'll be back in form again tomorrow (wishful thinking ;) At any rate, I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far, I'll be back soon!!

Monday:
Had a bunch of homework to do today! Argh! Had to dress comfortably. I tend to steer clear from these types of wrap tops, because they have a tendency to say something like "here's my boobs, take a look!" But I think this is okay, perhaps some opinions would help me out with this :)

Michelle Obama Challenge

I feel like such a lady today. Michelle Obama has such a wonderful, streamlined, classic, ladylike style about her. Her look seems so easy and no fuss, but I'll tell you it took me a good minute to figure out what to wear- this is what I came up with. I love the jewel tones that Mrs. O usually rocks, I've also noticed she's a big fan of cardigans (as am I), so I thought that I'd rock both out in one garment. I also love what she does with her brooches, so I tried my hand at it. Even though Mrs. O doesn't usually wear hose/tights, you guys just aren't ready for the whiteness that would be if I didn't put some one ;) I also rocked the flats just like the lovely first lady (I, however, am a sad 5'7"). You know what's funny? My fiance and I argued about whether or not Mrs. O wore flats, he claimed that "no, she wears heels!" I said, "oh, you dear thing, you have no clue!" I explained that I would have to school him later!! hehe...

My Outfit:
Black turtleneck- $5, F21
Blue cardigan- $4, thrifted (Merona)
Black pencil skirt- $10, Ross
Pointy toe flats- $8, Payless
Scalloped nude tights- $3, Old Navy
Middle brooch- free with purchase of blouse
Brooch (on your right)- $0.80, thrifted
Brooch (on your left)- Vintage (my grandmother's)
Earrings- $1, thrifted
Pearl bracelet- gifted
Total Cost- $31.80

My camera cut off my feet, so these are the flats that I'm wearing.

Sassy Librarian

Today I feel like a sassy librarian, you'll see why when you scroll down some more ;)
Yep, I wear glasses! Well, reading glasses (doesn't that sound a little old lady?). At any rate I've had them since the fifth grade, the doc says my eyes struggle to translate what they are seeing, so the specs help me out a bit... don't tell anyone but I think I need some full time specs too...putting it off for a few more years, hopefully!
My Outfit:
Black/white blouse- $12, Ross
Red cardigan- $2, thrifted
Jeans- $9, TJ Maxx
Heels- $4, thrifted
Belt- $5, Plato's Closet
Earrings- $1.70, thrifted
Brooch- free with lingerie purchase
Total Cost- $33.70

Close-up of the goods:
P.s. Totally stoked about tomorrow's challenge!!

Superbowl Sunday

Yeah so I totally needed something that would expand with me as I ate!!! What? I'm a foodie :) I loooove parties with food!! Alright, I'm over talking about my obsession with food. So, we had a totally awesome day, the game was fantastic! I'm not gonna lie to you, I usually don't care about the game, usually watch the commercials (which have been more and more unimpressive lately), but this game actually had me on the edge of my seat!! I wasn't exactly rooting for anyone in particular, just there to watch it all go down!

My Outfit:
Pink/white tank- $3, Walmart
Gray V-neck sweater- $7, Target
Jeans- $20, Express
Boots- gifted (Walmart)
Zip-up (shown below)- gifted (Old Navy)
Shell pendant necklace- gifted (from New Zealand)
Blue/black necklace- $1, Dollar Tree
Earrings- gifted
Total Cost- $31
So, I'm an incredibly cold natured person, so anytime I go anywhere that's not my house I almost always bring some form of warmth!

I love love love this necklace!! It's incredibly beautiful! My mom and stepdad got it for me from their travels, they are incredibly thoughtful!
